What sellers and dealers ask most — answered plainly, no small print.
For sellers
Snap your log card and we read it. Part of your number is the paper value — the rebates LTA pays on your car the day it’s deregistered, estimated from LTA’s published formulas; LTA holds the exact figure. The market adds the rest for the car itself, priced against recent sales — not a fishing offer. Together they make a band — the guide dealers bid from.
Why a band, not a number?
A point figure nobody will pay is just a fishing offer. A band is where dealers actually bid.
Illustrative — a 2019 Honda Vezel 1.5. Yours comes from your log card and today’s market.
For some cars we don’t hold market figures we’d stand behind — so rather than show you a range we invented, one of the team prices your car by hand, from your log card, and comes back within 24 hours. You’ll see it on your car’s page and hear from us on the channel you chose.
Our hours are Mon–Sat · 10:30am–6pm. Closed Sundays & public holidays. If the 24 hours land on a day we’re shut, we come back the moment we open — and the same S$0 promise holds either way.
Two ways, and it’s your choice. Sell to Carle — after a quick inspection we make you a firm offer; accept it and you’re paid within 7 days. It’s the certain, fast route. Or sell by auction — we list your car and licensed dealers compete for 48 hours; you set a floor and the highest bid above it wins, which often means more money and a few more days. Both start from the same free number, and either way you pay S$0.
Only Carle, while bidding runs — dealers see the car and its papers, not your name or number. After a binding sale, the winning dealer gets just what the handover needs, at the meet we book. Your data is handled under the PDPA; ask us to delete it any time.
Self-list and sell for S$0 — no listing fee, no commission. Our 1% + GST fee is paid by the dealer who wins the car, not you. The one optional extra: the S$80 Carle inspect-and-list service, only if you choose it.
Depends which way you sold. Sell to Carle — we settle any loan with your bank first, and the balance is yours within 7 days of accepting. Auction — the winning dealer pays you direct at the handover we book, arranged within 72 working hours of the close. Carle never holds your car money — it goes straight from the dealer to you.
Yes — many cars we handle still have finance owing. We settle the outstanding loan directly with your bank or finance company, then pay you the balance. You don’t front the difference or chase the paperwork. If the loan is more than the car is worth, we tell you upfront what you’d need to top up — before you commit to anything.
No — inspection is an option, not a requirement. You can list your car yourself for free: six photos on your phone, guided. If you’d rather we did the work, the S$80 Carle-inspected option means we inspect it, photograph it and write an independent condition report before dealers see it.
You set a floor — the least you’d take. Nothing sells beneath it. If the bidding doesn’t clear your floor, the car simply doesn’t sell — no cost, no obligation.
Right up to the close you can ask — not with a button, with a person. Before you have a number, there’s nothing to stop. Once you’re listed, if the bids stay below your floor the car simply doesn’t sell, and it costs you nothing. If you want the car out of a running auction, call or WhatsApp the office before the lot closes — the earlier you call, the more we can do. After the close is different — the highest bid above your floor is the sale, at that price. If you can’t go through with it, tell Carle straight away: it’s treated as a dispute, and if the fault is yours the car passes to the next-highest bidder.
No cost before the close — but never with a button. After the close, the sale stands at that price.
For dealers
During open bidding, yes. In the sealed final 5 minutes, no — every bid is hidden from every bidder, so no one can snipe, and sealed bids are never published. The seller’s floor is never shown; nothing sells below it.
Genuine owner cars, listed by the people who drove them — petrol, hybrid and EV, every make. Make, COE and registration come straight from each car’s LTA log card, so they’re verified rather than typed in — and the owners count is recorded at Carle’s inspection.
The fastest way to judge it is to look: the board is public — bid figures are members-only; the cars aren’t.
It backs each car you bid on. It’s a security hold, not a fee — held while you’re in the running, then one of three things happens.
Don’t win — it’s released back to your balance the moment the lot closes. Win — it’s credited against our 1% + GST fee, and anything left over returns to your balance. Win and then back out — that’s the one case where it’s lost, per the dealer terms.
Read the dealer terms — the deposit and the offset are §4 and §8.
A flat 1% + GST on the winning bid, invoiced only on a completed win — and your S$500 deposit is credited against it, so you only settle the balance. No win, no fee: no listing fee, no monthly fee, no charge for losing bids. You pay the seller for the car direct, at the Carle-arranged handover.
Raise a dispute with proof. Every car is backed by its owner’s log card, so what you bid on is on record. If the car at handover materially differs from its listing, our team reviews the evidence — photos, inspection notes — and decides where the fault sits.
If the fault is the seller’s, your S$500 deposit comes back in full; back out without grounds and you forfeit it. Either way the car passes to the next-highest bidder.
Apply with your dealership details and UEN — a person checks you against ACRA BizFile by hand. Then accept the dealer terms, pay the one-time S$250 + GST registration, fund your deposit, and you can bid on any live lot. A new auction opens Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 11am and runs 48 hours.
